Street Paws is the charity I have decided to highlight and support. Founded in Newcastle in 2016 Street Paws supports homeless people and their pets with the provision of free accessible veterinary care and support services across the UK. The Charity also provides pet essentials such as dog food, leads and collars and dog coats, Street Paws is providing a vital service where it is needed the most.
Street Paws are now able to offer emergency kennel space at centers around the country, and appointments at veterinary surgeries for more involved procedures. In response to the lack of pet friendly accommodation, the charity launched Street Paws Dog Champion Scheme in 2018. The scheme supports hostels and temporary accommodation to welcome pets by providing staff training and support, pet policies, Canine first aid training, owner agreements and full veterinary support.
